Tis The Season

What does the holiday season mean to you? For some it's time with family and friends. Baking treats or traveling.

We have hosted many traditions through the years at CDTC.

One is our annual Christmas Covered Dish.

Each year paricipants, family members, staff, board memebers along with various community memebers gather together and share a meal. Each bringing a dish to share. You can feel the holiday spirit in the air and you can for sure hear it once Santa makes his entrance.

Another long standing tradition is the participant secret santa. Many have choosen to participte over the years in drawing of names and going shoping, including in picking out how to wrap or bag the gift. Each shares in the delight as everyone opens their gifts and shows off their goodies.

A new tradition started this year show cases our "gift of giving". Eagle Point Campus opted to forgo the secret santa but adopt an angel off the "angel tree" instead. They picked an angel from the tree together and as donations poured in they were took shopping to fullfil the angels wish list.

Program Manager Jeanene Wolk comments on the success with pride "My hope is next Christmas we can sponsor 2".

Organization wide we held a donation drive for the North Georgia Angel House. We were able to make a goody bag for each of their residents, purchase movie tickets and gift cards for many meals and activites. As he was helping put together bags Larry stated "this is what Christmas is all about". As 2018 comes to a close we look forward to what 2019 will bring, knowing it is going to be a great year and that we will continue traditions but also build new ones.
